Alex’s Story
Alex Yoss joined the Cariloop Engagement Team in January 2020. Alex is a Social Worker with a passion and goal to combat loneliness and build community among the aging population. She graduated in 2019 with her Master’s in Social Work from New York University Silver School of Social Work and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Her focus at NYU was on geriatric social work, specifically ensuring the engagement of older adults and the reduction of social isolation in an aging population. She joined Cariloop in 2020 as an Engagement Coordinator and is excited to put her social work skills to use. People tell Alex that she has never met a stranger. Building relationships and community is in her DNA and she loves to connect people with one another to do amazing things. She is thrilled to join a team of motivated and inspiring individuals that are collaborating to ensure no one has to experience caregiving alone.
Alex lives in Dallas with her miniature Australian Sheppard, Winnie. Any given Saturday, you can find her at the first AM pilates class offered followed by a long walk with her dog while sipping Yerba Mate. Also, she will never turn down a plate of tacos served with skinny frozen margaritas.
